Mad Poets Speak

Image result for the canvas cafe

This weekend I visited The Canvas Cafe around Brick Lane for lunch which was amazing!

The cafe is warm and friendly with lovely staff and the venue itself has loads of quirky art and downstairs the walls are decorated with questions of which you can answer by writing all over the walls with your answers which adds an amazing personal touch.

On Sunday March the 12th between 5 – 7pm the Canvas Cafe are putting on an event called Mad Poets Speak!
It is a free spoken word/poetry open-mic event for people who’ve experienced mental health problems, and is welcome to anyone who would like to come and listen.

What makes this event even more exciting is I have a slot to read some of my own poetry!
Events like this one are such a great encouragement to help get others speaking about mental health and to promote awareness and education as well as stopping the stigma!

So check out their website here and come along!
